I am a multimedia journalist and photographer with a background in emergency nursing and international development.

I am now based in Edinburgh, Scotland. But the story didn't start there...

2015

After returning from Tanzania to teach first aid, I qualified as a registered nurse and began working in healthcare in the UK. I had spent several years training in neurology and cardiac surgeries and ended up working in cardiac emergency.

A few short months later, I would find myself back in Tanzania, working in the countries largest fully operational emergency department.

2016

My work in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, was to assist with departmental research and facilitate meetings with the nursing heads. I wrote an article for The Journal of Community Nursing, and my journalism career began. After three months in Tanzania, time in Ireland, and then some back in Edinburgh, I left nursing and followed my nose for a story.

2017

I could find stories almost anywhere, so I enrolled on the Masters of Journalism course at Edinburgh Napier University, Scotland. This intense one-year course taught me the valuable skills of news writing, radio production, TV news and magazine design. I spent two months working as a producer for Scotland Tonight, the counties flagship news and current affairs show for Scottish Television (STV) whilst covering events and news at the seat of power in Scotland for Holyrood Magazine, The Edinburgh Reporter, and The Wee Review.

2018

Then it was back to Africa, this time to Uganda.

I began filming my independent documentary "Bridging the Gap", investigating the human rights abuses and controversy surrounding an american education-business known as Bridge International Academies.

I fell in love with Central and Eastern Africa and decided to leave my Scottish homeland, and test freelance reporting to see what it takes to report from abroad.

2019

After three months in Uganda reporting for the AFP and working in collaboration with reporters from the Economist, I returned to Edinburgh and worked as an Assistant Producer for STV (ITN), I am now back as a freelancer working to head back over seas as soon as possible. I am now in the production stage of my documentary Bridging the Gap.
